Veteran centers among remaining free agents

Will the Blackhawks be one and done in the free agent frenzy of 2012? After signing Sheldon Brookbank on Day 1 of free agency, the Blackhawks have been quiet and the list of remaining free agents is thin.

Shane Doan is easily the best player available after Alexander Semin agreed to a deal with the Carolina Hurricanes. Among the remaining forwards, there are a few veteran centers still available including Jason Arnott, Daymond Langkow and Dominic Moore.

At 37, Arnott is not the All-Star he once was but he did score 17 goals in 72 games for the Blues last season.

Other remaining forwards include Mike Knuble, Jason Blake and Petr Sykora.

Defensive options are thing, too, with Carlo Colaiacovo, Matt Gilroy, ex-Hawk Jaroslav Spacek and veterans Pavel Kubina and Scott Hannan still searching for work.
