Blackhawks defenseman Brent Seabrook was forced to leave Sunday's game vs. the Calgary Flames after taking a big hit along the boards from ex-Hawk Rene Bourque. He will not return to the game.

Seabrook laid on the ice for a few moments before getting back to his knees and skated off under his own power before getting help back to the locker room.

Quenneville said Seabrook seemed not bad after the game.

Well find out more tomorrow. I just talked to him. He seemed all right, he seemed OK, said Quenenville, who is hopeful that Seabrook can make the trip to Pittsburgh for Tuesdays game.

When a guys got his back turned and you have more speed than him, it comes down to respect, said Jonathan Toews, who added he saw the hit as it happened but hadnt seen a replay yet. Head shots and head injuries arent going anywhere if we keep making plays like that, and that goes for everyone in the league.

The Blackhawks are calling it an upper-body injury, but replays show it could be another injury to the head. It is the third time in the last two years that Seabrook has suffered a blow to the head.

He was hit hard by another ex-Hawk, James Wisniewski, in Anaheim a couple seasons ago. Then in the first round of last year's playoffs, was knocked out by Raffi Torres of the Canucks.
