WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Last Saturday's Notre Dame-Michigan game was ESPN's highest-rated regular season college football telecast in three years, according to Sports Business Daily.
The Notre Dame-Michigan telecast, complete with Eminem's bizarre halftime appearance, drew a 5.3 rating and had 8.7 million viewers, the best numbers since Boise State-Virginia Tech drew a 6.3 rating and 9.9 million viewers in 2010.
Last year's Notre Dame-Michigan game, televised in primetime by NBC, drew 6.4 million viewers. 2011's Notre Dame-Michigan thriller on ESPN drew 7.4 million viewers, while the 2010 contest drew 7 million viewers on NBC.
The final scheduled meeting between Notre Dame and Michigan will come next year in South Bend.
