Lions' Fairley arrested for second time this offseason

Lions defensive tackle Nick Fairley was arrested for driving under the influence and attempting to elude police early Sunday morning in Mobile, Ala., the second time the second-year lineman has been booked this offseason. Fairley, Detroit's 2011 first-round draft pick, was arrested April 3 for possession of marijuana.

According to WALA in Alabama, Fairley was also written tickets for reckless driving, no proof of insurance and having an open container of alcohol in his car. He was released after posting a 1,750 bond later in the morning.

Fairely played in 10 games with Detroit during his rookie campaign, totaling 15 tackles and one sack. He was hit with a 15,000 fine for an egregious hit on Jay Cutler well after the Bears quarterback threw during a heated contest between the two teams last November.

The Lions have struggled to stay off the police blotter this offseason, as running back Mikel LeShoure and offensive lineman Johnny Culbreath have been arrested a total of three times for possession of marijuana. LeShoure, a standout back at Illinois, was arrested twice in the span of a month for possession, although he says he's learned his lesson.

The Bears play Detroit for the first time on Oct. 22, and while both Fairley and LeShoure could face suspensions to start the season, they'll likely be dressed for their Monday night contest at Soldier Field.

Could Derrick Rose reunite with Tom Thibodeau in Minnesota?

Could Derrick Rose reunite with Tom Thibodeau in Minnesota?

Tom Thibodeau was without Derrick Rose for the first time in his head-coaching career last season, coaching the Timberwolves while Rose suited up for the New York Knicks.

But a reunion may be on the horizon. Rose is an unrestricted free agent and the Timberwolves, though they don't have a real need at point guard, are showing interest in the Chicago native. We'll have to wait until July 1, when free agency begins, to see what happens.
