Bradley University had been searching for a new mascot for the last two years.
And now they've found something one-of-a-kind.
Bradley athletic director Michael Cross unveiled to the Peoria Journal Star on Friday that the school has chosen a gargoyle.
Cross emphasized that the University would still be called the Bradley 'Braves.'

“A very clear message was sent through the survey that said, ‘We want a mascot,’ ” Cross said. “That’s the easy part. While the gargoyle was the clear choice, a lot still needs to be worked on.”
After ditching the Native American image in the 80s and 90s, Bradley introduced a Bobcat in 1994 but it was short-lived.
The gargoyle will be only the third mascot in school history.
Bradley will become the only Division 1 school with a gargoyle mascot.
