Illinois head coach John Groce continues to burn up the recruiting trail as he gets another Chicago Public League standout to stay in-state.
D.J. Williams, a junior at Simeon Career Academy, made an early commitment to Illini Tuesday morning. Williams is the No. 45 player in the Class of 2015 according to Rivals.com. Williams is the third player that Groce has landed from Simeon. Jaylon Tate and Kendrick Nunn are the others.
Williams, a 6-foot-7, 200 pound wing forward, is expected to help Simeon compete for a fifth straight state title this season.
Illinois next game is Friday night when they host Alabama State.
