It's the second Offensive Player of the Week award Scheelhaase has won, with the first coming in 2010 after he threw four touchdowns and rushed for 118 yards in a 44-10 win over Purdue.

Against Southern Illinois, Scheelhaase completed 28 of 36 passes and threw one interception. Behind Scheelhaase's two second-quarter touchdowns, Illinois stormed to a 25-7 advantage at halftime, but the offense stalled in the second half and allowed SIU back into the game, with the Salukis having a drive late in the fourth with a chance to tie the score.
