In the season opener against the California Bears, Northwestern came out on top after a 44-30 win with a twist. During the first drive of the game for the Wildcats, starting quarterback Kain Colter suffered an upper body injury which was later diagnosed as a concussion.
However, Colter appears "ready to go" as he told Teddy Greenstein of The Chicago Tribune and he's also "planning to play this week."
If Colter isn't able to play in Saturday's home opener against Syracuse, Trevor Siemian will likely get the start, who replaced Colter last week. Siemian completed 18 of his 29 pass attempts and threw for 276 yards with a touchdown but was picked off twice in Saturday's contest.
The home opener against the Orange will kick off on Saturday at 5pm at Ryan Field.
