Notre Dame-Michigan may have an end in sight, but the series with Michigan State looks to have a longer shelf life.

Thursday, MSU and Alabama canceled their season series.
"Alabama requested to cancel the series due to uncertainty with the SEC schedule," MSU athletic director Mark Hollis told the Free Press. "While disappointed, in the spirit of collegiality, we agreed to the request."
This bodes well for the Notre Dame-MSU series, as the Spartans were previously looking to axe one of its premiere nonconference series, especially with the Big Ten moving to a nine-game conference slate in 2016.
Michigan State was supposed to play in Alabama in 2016 and at Spartan Stadium the following year. They still have games scheduled against Notre Dame for both years.
