This shouldn't exactly come as a surprise, but Notre Dame sells plenty of t-shirts.
The Collegiate Licensing Company released its list of top-selling schools on Tuesday, and Notre Dame ranked fourth behind Texas, Alabama and Michigan for the time period between July 1, 2013 and June 30, 2014. Texas has topped the list for the last nine years.
The officially-licensed merchandise includes more than apparel, though -- like, for example, the Notre Dame fragrance unveiled a year ago. From the CLC's website:
The retail marketplace for college-licensed merchandise in 2013 was estimated at $4.59 billion. Royalties generated from the sale of officially licensed collegiate products go back to the Universities to support student scholarships, and enhance various initiatives on campus and in the community.
Notre Dame's apparel deal with Under Armour began on July 1, 2014, so we'll see how that affects sales for the next year.
