SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The speculation can stop: Notre Dame won't wear green on Saturday against Oklahoma.

The game is billed as a "greenout," with 40,000 green pom-poms to be distributed and fans encouraged to wear green. But the Irish will wear their usual navy-and-gold uniforms, coach Brian Kelly said on Tuesday.

Notre Dame has wore green jerseys twice during Kelly's tenure, both for Shamrock Series games against Army (at Yankee Stadium) and Maryland (at FedEx Field). The green jerseys, in general, have been reserved for special occasions over Notre Dame's history.

Notre Dame last wore green jerseys in South Bend on Oct. 20, 2007, against USC.
