Sheldon Day (ankle) practiced Thursday but will be a game-time decision for Notre Dame's matchup this weekend against Michigan State, coach Brian Kelly told reporters Thursday.
"He can play Saturday, we'll see," Kelly said. "He obviously missed Tuesday and Wednesday, but he's available to us. We'll see how he responds. It'll be a game-time decision. But he practiced today, looked pretty good."
Day suffered an ankle sprain during Notre Dame's 31-24 win over Purdue last weekend.
If Day can't go, Kelly said it'll be an "all hands on deck" situation at defensive end opposite Stephon Tuitt. Isaac Rochell, Jarron Jones and Kona Schwenke would likely comprise most of those fill-in snaps.
Day, a sophomore, has started all three games for Notre Dame and has seven tackles, one for a loss, and no sacks.
