CSN Preps Basketball Power Rankings: No. 18 Stevenson

Share

School: Stevenson

2015-16 record: 24-7, 10-2 in the North Suburban Lake

Postseason results: Lost to Deerfield, 53-50, in the Class 4A Glenbrook South Sectional semifinals.

Players to watch: Senior wing Justin Smith is a major Player of the Year candidate as the high-flyer is committed to Indiana. Smith has been a key piece on Stevenson's team the past few years and could have a huge year. Senior Willie Herenton is also a college prospect who is a plus athlete at guard. Seniors Aidan O'Connell and Eric Zalewski also return.

Why they're in the Power Rankings: Stevenson has been one of the state's best programs in recent years and Smith is the type of star who can carry them to Peoria at the end of the year. Head coach Pat Ambrose always seems to get the most out of his teams.

Did you know?: Last year was the first season that Stevenson failed to make the final four in Peoria since 2012.
