CSN Preps Basketball Power Rankings: No. 22 Notre Dame

Share

School: Notre Dame

2015-16 record: 25-7, 6-3 in the East Suburban Catholic Conference

Postseason results: Lost to Curie, 65-62, in the Class 4A Evanston super-sectional

Players to watch: After failing to live up to expectations early in his junior year, 6-foot-7 forward Jeameril Wilson looked like a dynamic two-way player late in the season. Wilson, now a senior, also had some strong moments against elite competition this summer. Senior guard Matt Stritzel also proved to be a rugged competitor who is capable of making tough shots. Sean Johnson, a 6-foot-8 senior, should get more of a chance to shine this season.

Why they're in the Power Rankings: Head coach Tom Les has built a perennial winner at Notre Dame as the Dons usually have size and depth. This season looks to be no different.

Did you know? Notre Dame has been eliminated in the state playoffs by the eventual Class 4A state champion the last two years. The Dons fell to Stevenson in the Waukegan sectional semifinal in 2015 and they were eliminated by Curie in super-sectional play last season.
