School: Neuqua Valley

Head coach: Bill Ellinghaus

How they fared in 2015: 7-4 (5-3) DuPage Valley Conference. Neuqua Valley made the Class 8A state playoff field. The Wildcats beat Hinsdale Central then lost to Waubonsie Valley in second-round action.

Biggest storyline in 2016: Can the Wildcats survive the DuPage Valley schedule and go farther in the 8A state playoffs?

Names to watch this season: WR/S Isaiah Robertson, WR/TE Owen Piche

Biggest holes to fill: Can the Wildcats settle on a quarterback?

EDGY's early take: Neuqua Valley has big time talent in senior standouts Robertson (Notre Dame) and Piche (Navy), along with experience on the offensive line and in the defensive secondary. I expect the Wildcats to be in the thick of the DuPage Valley conference race this season. And if they can find answers at a few key spots? The Wildcats could very well make a deep run in Class 8A.
