School: Batavia

Head coach: Dennis Piron

How they fared in 2015: 10-2 (6-0) Upstate 8 River Conference. Batavia made the Class 7A state playoff field. The Bulldogs defeated Pekin and Simeon then lost to Cary-Grove in quarterfinal action.

Biggest storyline in 2016: Can the Bulldogs continue to reign supreme in the Upstate 8 River conference?

Names to watch this season: OT Evan Day, TE Glenn Albanese

Biggest holes to fill: Can Batavia reload at the offensive skills positions as well as on the defensive line?

EDGY's Early Take: Batavia and Piron will break in a brand new artificial surface this season. The Bulldogs bring back three starting offensive linemen, which is always good news for an offense that loves to punish all comers with its ground game. Batavia is another power program that just seems to reload year in and year out.
