The first 75 team profiles focus on teams making strides across Chicagoland and elsewhere in the state. School: Mount Carmel

Head coach: Frank Lenti

How they fared in 2015: 10-3 (2-2) Chicago Catholic League Blue Conference. Mount Carmel made the 2015 Class 7A state playoff field. The Caravan defeated Glenbard North then lost to eventual state champion Glenbard West in the second round of Class 7A playoffs.

Biggest storyline in 2016: Can the Caravan's talented group of underclassmen come ready to play?

Names to watch this season: Running back/linebacker Michael Kennedy (NIU commit) and defensive back Phazione McClurge (North Dakota State)

Biggest holes to fill: Can the Caravan find a quarterback to run its veer-option attack?

EDGY's Early Take: Despite holes at some key spots, talent has never been in short supply at Mount Carmel. Keep an eye on a very strong junior class that includes junior offensive/defensive lineman Verdis Brown and junior linebacker Terrance Taylor, both of whom already have early Division-I scholarship offers.
