No. 8 Lincoln-Way East Griffins

2014 record: 10-2 (7-0) won the Southwest Suburban Blue Conference. The Griffins defeated Lincoln-Way Central and Reavis before losing to Mount Carmel in the Class 8A quarterfinals.

Why did the Griffins make the @CSNPreps Power Rankings? Lincoln-Way East has experience coming back, especially on the offensive and defensive line.

Areas of concern heading into the 2015 season? Can the Griffins find replacements at a few key spots, including quarterback this fall?

It will be a good season if: The Griffins control the line play on both sides of the ball, and senior running back Liam Morrissey has another big year carrying the football.

Headliners? Senior offensive tackle Kurt Gavin (Illinois) and Morrissey are just a few key names from a very strong senior class.

Biggest game of 2015? Oct. 9 at Homewood-Flossmoor. A potential conference championship game with major playoff implications.

Did you know? Rob Zvonar is the only head football coach in Lincoln-Way East history and has compiled a 132-14 record in 14 seasons. The Griffins have never missed the IHSA state playoff field.
