Chicago Mount Carmel four-star ranked junior defensive tackle recruit Verdis Brown (6-foot-4, 290 pounds) is already drawing BCS-level offers and strong recruiting looks and interest this late summer.

"I have 10 offers so far," according to Brown. "I have offers now from Illinois, Ohio State, Indiana, Florida, Florida State, Purdue, Toledo, Missouri, Michigan State and Ole Miss."

Brown visited Illinois last weekend and is also planning to visit Notre Dame on Saturday for the game against Michigan State.

"My plan is to try to get out to see as many college games as I can this fall," he said.

Deerfield senior three-star ranked defensive end Joshua Maize (6-foot-4, 240 pounds) is one of the top uncommitted names in the state's Class of 2017. So what's the latest with Maize?

"I sent my early senior video out to a bunch of schools just earlier this week," he said. "The early feedback has been very good so far. I've heard back from Tulane, Syracuse, Purdue and Kansas so far. I'm just going to see what the schools have to say on my game."

Maize has two visits in mind these days.

"I'm going to Miami of Ohio this weekend for the game against Western Kentucky," he said. "That's just a game visit and not an official visit. I'm also planning to make an official visit to UConn. I haven't set up a date yet but I plan to visit UConn sometime in December."

Peoria senior three-star ranked OL/DL Kendrick Green (6-foot-4, 270 pounds) made an unofficial visit to Iowa last weekend and could the Hawkeyes make a late run at Green?

"I had a great game day experience at Iowa," Green said. "The Iowa coaches told me that I will be hearing from them soon and that they are very interested in me. I'm not sure of that means they will offer me or not but I know that I had my best on campus experience so far at Iowa."

Green has an official visit set to Minnesota on Sept. 23rd.

Warren Township four-star ranked junior wide receiver Micah Jones (6-foot-5, 196 pounds) recently names a Top 5 favorite schools list and Jones also made a return visit to Iowa last weekend.

"I visited Iowa again on Saturday and I had a great visit," according to Jones. "I'm also planning to visit Michigan State, Illinois, Ohio State, Notre Dame and maybe Wisconsin for a game this season."

Jones' Top 5 favorite schools list include Illinois, Iowa, Northwestern, Michigan State and Notre Dame.
