So far the Chicagoland area Class of 2015 doesn't look to be an exceptionally strong (especially when compared to the recently signed 2014 group), yet both Central and Southern Illinois seem to have a very strong group of sought after recruits.

Start with the recently named Rivals100 for the Class of 2015, the lone Land of Lincoln representative is East St. Louis four-star ranked defensive end Terry Beckner Jr. (6-foot-4, 270 pounds). Beckner, ranked as the 35th best player in the nation per Rivals.com, has 16 scholarship offers including Florida, Florida State, USC and Tennessee along with offers from several Big Ten schools.
East St. Louis also features junior running back Naterace Strong (5-foot-11, 195 pounds) who is also a four-star ranked recruit per Rivals.com.
Champaign Centennial three-star rankled quarterback Jimmy Fitzgerald (6-foot-2, 205 pounds) gave Illinois his verbal commitment a few weeks ago.

Jacksonville Ill. junior three-star ranked offensive guard Gabe Megginson (6-foot-5, 289 pounds) just added offers this week from Penn State, Michigan State and Ole Miss. Springfield Sacred Heart Griffin junior three-star ranked offensive tackle Quinn Oseland (6-foot-6, 307 pounds) also added a recent offer from Oregon. Both Megginson and Oseland will be two of the most sought after offensive linemen in a recruiting year that looks to be light on offensive linemen.
Belleville West junior kicker Austin Seibert (5-foot-10, 175 pounds) is ranked as one of the top kickers in the nation and Seibert has already added scholarship offers from Miami (Fls.), Missouri and Northwestern so far this winter.
Maroa-Forsyth junior three star ranked outside linebacker Jack Hockaday (6-foot-0, 200 pounds) has offers so far from Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Duke and Nebraska.
Highland Ill. junior defensive end Nick Czar (6-foot-4, 235 pounds) gave Army a very early verbal commitment, yet other schools are also in pursuit and Czar added a recent offer from Western Michigan.
Other 2015 prospects to watch from Central and Southern Illinois include Springfield OL Logan Winders (6-foot-4, 290 pounds), Sacred Heart Griffin quarterback Gabe Green (6-foot-1, 194 pounds), Normal U-High ATH Arion Worthman (5-foot-10, 195 pounds), Decatur MacArthur defensive back Shawntrez Spates (5-foot-10, 170 pounds), Concord Tripoia fullback Dean Arendt (6-foot-0, 220 pounds) and Edwardsville linebacker Zac Rujawitz (6-foot-0, 220 pounds).
