CSNChicago.com is your top destination on the road to the 2014 high school football season. CSN preps contributor “Edgy” Tim O’Halloran will take a look at 100 teams in 100 days, counting down to the opening night kickoff on August 29th.

School: Lincoln-Way West

Head coach: Dave Ernst

Assistant Coaches: Luke Lokanc, Dom Deluca, Jake Zajc, Bob Lombardi, Al McKeller, Jason Visney, Mike Franta, Mike Villa, Steve Baurer, Larry Lokanc

Biggest storyline in 2014: Can the Warriors get past the Class 5A state quarterfinal round? West has suffered two last-minute heartbreaking losses in the quarterfinals over the past two seasons.

Name to watch: Junior offensive guard Bryan Brokop already has a handful of major D1 offers (Nebraska, Illinois) and is one of many underclassmen names to watch at Lincoln-Way west this fall.

Biggest Hole To Fill: The Warriors will welcome back just four senior returning starters in 2014. The Warriors will be very green on both sides of the ball this fall.

EDGY's Early Take: If not 2014, then it could be 2015 for Lincoln-Way West. The Warriors and head coach Dave Ernst will need an influx of youth to step up in a hurry this season. If the underclassmen can contribute early, then the timetable could be moved up. Lincoln-Way West is quickly becoming a major player in Class 5A.
