Biggest storyline in 2014: Can the Mustangs hard work off the field pay off on the field in 2014? Mundelein head coach George Kaiser and staff has worked tirelessly to change the environment of Mustangs football, implementing year round training. leadership seminars and much more.
Name to watch: Senior OL Joe Nagel (6-foot-3, 275 pounds) has size and a ton of varsity experience. Nagel is drawing various college looks so far this summer.
Biggest Hole To Fill: Mundelein was more competitive in 2013 and for the Mustangs to continue to move forward, the underclassmen group will need to help replace 11 graduated starters from a year ago. Also for Mundelein, the more depth and overall numbers in the North Suburban Lake Conference, the better.
EDGY's Early Take: The Mustangs have several cards stacked against them most importantly playing in the ultra-tough North Suburban Lake with the likes of state powers Lake Zurich, Stevenson, Warren and Lake Forest. Yet the coaching staff is working hard to get the kids to buy into the program and I can easily see this team raise a few eyebrows in 2014.
