CSNChicago.com is your top destination on the road to the 2014 high school football season. CSN preps contributor “Edgy” Tim O’Halloran will take a look at 100 teams in 100 days, counting down to the opening night kickoff on Aug. 29.

School: Romeoville

Head coach: Jeff Kuna

Assistant Coaches: Anthony Imbordino, Adam Clendenning, Justin Trovato, Brian Smith, Andy Uran, Scott Harper, Matt Joerger, Chaz Kuhn, Dan Simik and Matt Williams

Biggest storyline in 2014: Can the Spartans take the next step? Romeoville stopped a 10-year state-playoff hiatus in 2013, and 2014 also looks promising.

Name to watch: Senior wide receiver Chuck Hunter (6-foot-1, 175 pounds) has speed and is a high-level athlete type. Look for Hunter to draw more recruiting looks this fall.

Biggest hole to fill: Depth is always a question mark for the Spartans. Romeoville has a terrific senior class, but can the junior class rise to the occasion?

EDGY's Early Take: Kuna has been fighting hard to get his Spartans back on the football map. Romeoville always has talent, and if the overall numbers keep increasing, look for the Spartans to become a program with some nice momentum. On paper the Spartans look primed for another state playoff bid in 2014.
