CSNChicago.com is your top destination on the road to the 2014 high school football season. CSN preps contributor “Edgy” Tim O’Halloran will take a look at 100 teams in 100 days, counting down to the opening night kickoff on August 29.

School: Glenbrook North

Head coach: Bob Pieper

Assistant Coaches: Matt Purdy, Dom Savino, Justin Georgacakis, Ernie Brandt

Biggest storyline in 2014: Can the Spartans win the Central Suburban North again in 2014?

Name to watch: Senior WR/DB David Burnside (5-foot-10, 175 pounds) is a key on both sides of the football and literally never leaves the field for the Spartans.

Biggest Hole To Fill: Graduated QB AJ Spitz was a huge part of the Glenbrook North offense a season ago. Who steps up and replaces his offensive production this fall?

EDGY's Early Take: Glenbard North and head coach Bob Pieper have been a mainstay at the top of the Central Suburban North yet the Spartans also have higher aspirations. The Spartans have experience back and if the junior class can step up and fill in some holes, this will be a state playoff team again in 2014.
