CSNChicago.com is your top destination on the road to the 2014 high school football season. CSN preps contributor “Edgy” Tim O’Halloran will take a look at 100 teams in 100 days, counting down to the opening night kickoff on August 29th.
School: Glenbrook South
Head coach: Mike Noll
Assistant Coaches: Al Greenberg, Tom Mietus, Steve Stanicek, David Schoenwetter
Biggest storyline in 2014: Can the Titans finally beat "you know who" in 2014? Conference rival Maine South owns a 65 consecutive conference winning streak in the Central Suburban South.
Name to watch: Senior QB Fitz Stadler (6-foot-8, 215 pounds) might look more like a power forward, yet Stadler is an athletic and very capable thrower and scrambler in the Titans offense.
Biggest Hole To Fill: The Titans will need to find another running back this season. Glenbrook South is at its best when they can play ball control and finding a speedy running back is a top priority this summer. Senior FB George Hahn (5-foot-11, 180 pounds) is terrific, but finding a running mate makes Hahn even more effective.
EDGY's Early Take: Glenbrook South has been a consistent winner — expect another state playoff-caliber team. The X-factor in 2014 could be senior QB Fitz Stadler. He will be a three-year starter and that experience will be huge in 2014.
