CSNChicago.com is your top destination on the road to the 2014 high school football season. CSN preps contributor “Edgy” Tim O’Halloran will take a look at 100 teams in 100 days, counting down to the opening night kickoff on Aug. 29th.

School: St. Rita

Head coach: Todd Kuska

Biggest storyline in 2014: Can the Mustangs make another run at the Chicago Catholic League Blue conference title and beyond? The Mustangs graduated some key players from a season ago, however the Mustangs have experience back at several key spots this fall, including the offensive line.

Name to watch: Senior linebacker Matt Mitchell (6-foot-3, 215 pounds) is your prototypical fast, strong and athletic linebacker and a leader for the Mustangs defense.

Biggest hole to fill: Graduated 2013 quarterback Tommy Mister (Indiana) provided both a running and passing threat for the Mustangs. Can the Mustangs replace his offensive production this fall?

EDGY's Early Take: It seems like the Chicago Catholic League Blue division, at least at this early stage seems pretty wide open. St. Rita has a returning running back, a veteran offensive line and seven starters back on defense. Those are usually the ingredients needed for success on the South Side.
