Players to watch: Senior forward Nick Rakocevic was a third-team CSN All-Area selection last season and he's one of the state's best big men. Junior guard Jason Towers showed some positive flashes during the summer and junior big man Lavon Thomas has plenty of varsity experience. Keep an eye on freshman guard Marquise Walker, who has an advanced feel for his age.

Did you know? The 6-foot-10 Rakocevic is the best uncommitted senior in the state and could have an intriguing recruitment with a big senior season.

Why they're in the Power Rankings: Coming off of a state championship and returning Rakocevic is enough to put the Chargers in the Top 25, but head coach Gene Pingatore has a lot of intriguing young talent to work with this season. If the guards come to play like they're capable of, St. Joseph could be even better than this preseason ranking.
