No. 17 Maine South
2013 record: 9-3 (5-0); finished first in the Central Suburban South conference in 2013. Lost to Loyola Academy 35-0 in the second round of the Class 8A IHSA playoffs.
Why did the Hawks make the CSN Preps Power Rankings? When Maine South has a quarterback and receivers returning with experience, the Hawks will win a lot of games in 2014.
Areas of concern: The Hawks will need to replace several key players from a season ago, especially on the offensive line.
[MORE POWER RANKINGS: No. 18 Glenbard North]
It will be a good season if: the Hawks offense clicks and the Hawks can develop some depth on both sides of the lines.
Headliners: Junior quarterback Brian Collis already has two seasons of varsity experience under his belt and continues to make real strides in his overall game.
Biggest game in 2014: Take your pick, either Week 1 hosting Montini Catholic or Week 2 at Wheaton Warrenville South.
