CSNChicago.com is your top destination on the road to the 2014 high school football season. CSN preps contributor “Edgy” Tim O’Halloran spotlights one team per day in the CSN Preps Power Rankings, counting down to kickoff on August 29th.

No. 21 Batavia

2013 record: 13-1 (6-0); won the 2013 Class 6A state title and finished first in the Upstate 8 River conference in 2013.

Why did the Bulldogs make the CSN Preps Power Rankings? Batavia has been a steady winner under fourth year head coach Dennis Piron and the Bulldogs don't look to be going away anytime soon. While Batavia will need to reload especially on offense they still have enough key players they can rely on this season.

Areas of concern: Batavia graduated it's entire offensive backfield from a year ago. Senior TE Noah Frazier is the lone returning skill position player back with experience.

It will be a good season if: the Bulldogs veteran offensive line lives up to the hype and the offensive skills can develop quickly.

Headliners: Batavia senior offensive guard Jack Breshears (6-foot-4, 280 pounds) is verbally committed to Florida Atlantic.

Biggest game: Oct. 17 at 1:30 p.m. Geneva at Batavia. This is easily one of the oldest and best rivalry games going.
