CSNChicago.com is your top destination on the road to the 2015 high school football season. CSN preps contributor “Edgy” Tim O’Halloran will take a look at 100 teams in 100 days, counting down to the opening night kickoff on Aug. 28.

No. 22 Lake Zurich Bears

2014 record: 5-5 (3-3) finished fifth in the North Suburban Lake conference. Lost to Addison Trail in the opening round of the IHSA Class 7A playoffs.

Why did the Bears make the @CSNPreps Power Rankings? The Bears bring back experience in several key spots, a much different situation compared to a year ago at this time.

Areas of concern heading into the 2015 season? The Bears welcome back just one starting offensive linemen in senior Jacob Carlson.

It will be a good season if: The Bears swarming defense returns and the offense can kick the running game back into gear.

Headliners? All-State senior running back/linebacker Ben Klett will be a rare four-year starter for the Bears.

Biggest game of 2015? Sept. 11 vs. Stevenson. The winner will get a very big early start towards a conference crown.

Did you know? Lake Zurich has made the state playoff field for 13 straight years, while also advancing to the IHSA semifinal round in seven of the past nine seasons?
