CSNChicago.com is your top destination on the road to the 2014 high school football season. CSN preps contributor “Edgy” Tim O’Halloran spotlights one team per day in the CSN Preps Power Rankings, counting down to kickoff on August 29th.
2013 record: 9-2 (5-1); finished second in the West Suburban Silver conference in 2013. Lost to Maine South 34-21 in Class 8A second round action.
Why the Huskies made the CSN Preps Power Rankings: Oak Park-River Forest has had a nice run of talent over the past few seasons and the Huskies look like they are here to stay. Look for OPRF to again be a major player in the West Suburban Silver and in Class 8A this fall.
Areas of concern: Can the talented underclassmen group step up and fill some key spots this fall? The junior class went undefeated in 2013 at the sophomore level and if OPRF is to make a run in 2014 that group will need to play a big role.
It will be a good season if: the Huskies can fill in some holes and avoid the injury bug.
Headliners: OPRF senior QB Lloyd Yates (6-foot-1, 190 pounds) along with his offensive tackle Adam Lemke-Bell (6-foot-5, 285 pounds) have both committed to Northwestern.
Biggest game in 2014: October 4th 1:30PM OPRF vs. Glenbard West at Duchon Field in Glen Ellyn.
