CSNChicago.com is your top destination on the road to the 2015 high school football season. CSN preps contributor “Edgy” Tim O’Halloran will take a look at 100 teams in 100 days, counting down to the opening night kickoff on Aug. 28.

No. 24 Hinsdale Central Red Devils

2014 record: 8-3 (5-1): Placed second in the West Suburban Silver conference. Lost to Simeon in the second round of the 8A state playoffs.

Why did the Red Devils make the @CSNPreps Power Rankings? Hinsdale Central is always able to reload and not rebuild. While the Red Devils will be inexperienced in some key spots, they also have young talent waiting and ready to go.

Areas of concern heading into the 2015 season? Who wins the quarterback battle between senior Michael Sessa and junior Josh Bean? Both have looked strong this summer and the battle is a win-win for Hinsdale Central.

It will be a good season if: A quarterback emerges quickly and the Red Devils can catch a break by avoiding the injury bug that's plagued them the past few seasons.

Headliners? Senior guard Matt Allen (Michigan State) and offensive lineman Doug Kramer Jr. lead the offensive line. Senior linebacker Matt Bradley is a name to watch on defense.

Biggest game of 2015? Saturday, Oct. 3 at Glenbard West. See you there.

Did you know: Matt Allen (6-foot-2, 280 pounds) is the third Allen brother from Hinsdale Central set to play his college football at Michigan State. Senior center Jack Allen and sophomore guard Brian Allen are starters on the Spartans offensive line.
