CSNChicago.com is your top destination on the road to the 2015 high school football season. CSN preps contributor “Edgy” Tim O’Halloran will take a look at 100 teams in 100 days, counting down to the opening night kickoff on Aug. 28.

No. 9 Libertyville Wildcats

2014 record: 9-4 (3-3) placed third in the North Suburban Lake Conference. The Wildcats defeated Lincoln Park, Addison Trail and Fenwick before losing to Cary-Grove in the Class 7A semifinals.

Why did the Wildcats make the @CSNPreps Power Rankings? Libertyville welcomes back several starters from its 2014 7A state semifinal team.

Areas of concern heading into the 2015 season? Can the Wildcats live up to the lofty preseason hype?

It will be a good season if: The Wildcats get another big season from Northwestern commit in senior quarterback Riley Lees and the defense fills in at some key spots.

Headliners? Lees and senior defensive end Ben Kimpler (Miami of Ohio) lead the Wildcats this fall.

Biggest game of 2015? Sept. 25 at Stevenson. Libertyville can make a statement with a win on the road against the defending Class 8A champs.

Did you know? Libertyville has been playing high school football since 1918.
