3. Proviso East (19-3)
#PrepsTalk: The Pirates continue to breeze through the West Suburban Gold schedule, as noted in Friday’s 81-58 romp over Hinsdale South. Their Tuesday game at Morton has been postponed. No makeup date has been scheduled.
4. Oswego (23-2)
#PrepsTalk: The Panthers put the final dagger in the Southwest Prairie conference race with a 56-51 win over Minooka Friday. Miles Simelton and Elliott McGaughy set the pace once again.
5. Orr (21-2)

6. Whitney Young (21-3)
#PrepsTalk: Paul White (21 points), Jahlil Okafor (15 points, eight rebounds and three blocks) and LJ Peak (10 points) helped the Dolphins to an easy win over Foreman. Young now looks for revenge against Orr. They’ll get their chance Wednesday.
7. North Chicago (23-2)
#PrepsTalk: Kurt Hall tallied 32 points for the Warhawks, who escaped with a 73-66 win over Wauconda on Friday. North Chicago is at Round Lake Tuesday and Lake Forest on February 19th.
8. Bloom (20-3)
#PrepsTalk: We know the Blazing Trojans have playmakers on offense, but the defense can play too. They only gave up 24 points in Friday’s Southland Conference victory over Rich South.
9. Marian Catholic (23-3)
#PrepsTalk: It’s not all about Tyler Ulis at Marian Catholic. Joshua Cohn (17 points) and Terrone Parham Jr. (15 points) stepped up in Friday’s win at Marist. Friday’s game against Notre Dame should be entertaining.
10. Benet (21-4)
#PrepsTalk: The Redwings picked up a 54-47 win over St. Patrick Friday night. Wheaton Academy (Tuesday) and Marist (Friday) are on the horizon, with Whitney Young (February 23rd) in the not-too-distant future.
11. Neuqua Valley (23-2)
#PrepsTalk: The Wildcats cruised to the Upstate Eight Valley title as they rolled past South Elgin, 62-37. Neuqua, who got 14 points from Pat Kenny, jetted out to a 24-5 lead and never looked back.
12. Niles North (22-3)
#PrepsTalk: Our Muscle Milk Team of the Week honor goes to the Vikings, who clinched their first outright CSL title since 2000. The Vikings defeated Maine East and Hersey over the weekend.
13. Stevenson (20-4)
#PrepsTalk: It looks like this is the year for Stevenson in the North Suburban Lake (and beyond?). Jalen Brunson racked up another 23 points as the Patriots beat Lake Forest Friday night. Up next: Tuesday against Evanston.
14. Maine South (24-3)
#PrepsTalk: The Hawks avoided a pseudo-trap game against Waukegan Friday, winning 41-37. All eyes are on New Trier this Friday. The Hawks and Trevians will duke it out with the fate of the CSL South at stake.
15. West Aurora (19-4)
#PrepsTalk: The rematch with Glenbard East is still over a week away, but Jontrell Walker and company cannot afford to overlook Friday’s home game against Naperville North.
16. Notre Dame (20-4)
#PrepsTalk: The Dons stepped out of East Suburban Catholic Conference action to get a quality win against Providence-St. Mel. Justin Halloran hit four three-pointers in the 75-44 victory on Saturday night.
17. Larkin (21-3)
#PrepsTalk: The Royals were 1-24 in 2007-08 and 4-23 the following year. This year’s Upstate Valley River conference champs represent an amazing turnaround in Elgin. Job well done to coach Deryn Carter.
18. Lemont (20-2)
#PrepsTalk: Joe Hehir was the latest hero for Lemont this season. His free throw with four seconds left gave the Indians a 51-50 win over T.F. North—and a piece of the South Suburban Blue title.
19. Homewood-Flossmoor (17-5)
#PrepsTalk: Two huge wins for H-F. The first, a 70-59 win over conference foe Bolingbrook on Friday. More excitement Saturday as Rashaan Surles nailed a three at the buzzer to give the Vikings a 68-65 victory over Hillcrest in overtime.
20. New Trier (23-4)
#PrepsTalk: The Trevians have very quietly won 23 games this season. We know Steve Cook can play. But Pete Winslow and Jordan Thomas are solid contributors as well. Note: Maine South beat NT 47-45 back in OT on Jan. 11.
