The focus on college football recruiting has been placed on the Class of 2015 and beyond for quite some time now. Here are my 20 prospects to watch in the Land of Lincoln Class of 2015.
-- Terry Beckner Jr., defensive end, East St. Louis (6-foot-4, 270 pounds). Beckner already has multiple major BCS offers. He's the No. 1 recruit in this class hands down.
-- Jack Beneventi, quarterback, Benet Academy (6-foot-6, 190 pounds). Beneventi already has offers from Notre Dame, Illinois, Iowa and others.
-- Titus Booker, athlete, Grayslake North (6-foot-0, 175 pounds). Booker can play running back, wide receiver and defensive back at the college level.
-- Miles Boykin, wide receiver, Providence Catholic (6-foot-5, 220 pounds). Boykin projects as a tight end who has speed and great tools.
-- Dre Brown, running back, DeKalb (5-foot-11, 191 pounds). Brown can also play defensive back, but he has major Division-I running back ability.
-- David Edwards, athlete, Downers Grove North (6-foot-6, 215 pounds). Edwards is drawing looks and early offers to play as a tight end or offensive lineman.
-- Jimmy Fitzgerald, quarterback, Champaign Centennial (6-foot-2, 215 pounds). Fitzgerald has ideal size and ability for college football.
-- Cameron Green, wide receiver, Stevenson (6-foot-1, 189 pounds). Green recently received his first scholarship offer from Toledo.
-- Jack Hockaday, athlete, Maroa-Forsyth (6-foot-0, 199 pounds). Hockaday is a 2012 Class 1A state champion and can play strong safety or outside linebacker at the next level.
-- Gabe Megginson, offensive tackle, Jacksonville (6-foot-5, 289 pounds). Megginson has received early offers from Illinois, Indiana, NIU, Wisconsin and others.
-- Hasan Muhammed-Rogers, quarterback, Oak Lawn Richards (5-foot-11, 175 pounds). Muhammed-Rogers is a terrific read-option quarterback prospect.
-- Flynn Nagel, wide receiver, Marist (5-foot-11, 178 pounds). Nagel is an ideal slot receiver who has received offers from Illinois, Indiana and NIU.
-- Patrick Nelson, defensive back, Hales Franciscan (6-foot-1, 195 pounds). Nelson has an early offer from Iowa, with more offers expected to follow.
-- Quinn Oseland, offensive tackle, Springfield Sacred Heart Griffin (6-foot-6, 307 pounds). Oseland is a big tackle type for the Cyclones.
-- Leonard Ross, running back, Lyons Township (6-foot-0, 195 pounds). Ross has an early offer from Illinois.
-- Trevor Ruhland, offensive lineman, Cary-Grove (6-foot-4, 270 pounds). There has been more than one recruiter to call Ruhland, who is the top linemen in this class.
