Six months after being hired as the men's basketball coach at Northwestern, Chris Collins has made Evanston a desired location for top, local recruits. His latest get for the program was Fenwick High School senior shooting guard Scott Lindsey, who verbally committed to the Wildcats on Sunday night.
Lindsey, who is currently recovering from a broken leg, had other offers from schools such as Iowa and Vanderbilt. But the six-foot five-inch guard decided the opportunity to be a part of a new era at NU, which recruits have called the "#NUera" on Twitter, was too good to pass up.
Lindsey isn't the only Chicago native in this group. Senior St. Rita High School forward Vic Law, who is a consensus Top 100 recruit in the nation, got the ball rolling for Collins' first recruiting class when he verbally committed on July 4th. Since then, the Wildcats received commitments from Westlake High School senior forward Gavin Skelly and Greensburg High School senior guard Bryant McIntosh.
The Wildcats' 2014 class is ranked 26th nationally by 247sports.com.
