Lake Zurich used a last-second field goal from junior kicker Jake Kubin as the No. 10 Bears held off Fremd for a 10-7 win on Friday night.

Kubin's 20-yard field goal as time expired was the difference for Lake Zurich in a grind-it-out effort.

Junior quarterback Joey Lindstrom finished 7-of-13 for 97 yards with a touchdown and an interception in his first varsity start to lead the Bears while running back Zane Lodico added 98 yards on 28 carries and also caught a 20-yard touchdown pass from Lindstrom.

Lake Zurich will host No. 7 Cary-Grove in a tough battle next week while Fremd will travel to Prospect.
