In the aftermath of last weeks postgame skirmish between Simeon and Morgan Park that led to a 17-year-old student being shot and killed, Chicago Public Schools has reportedly suspended Wolverines head coach Robert Smith and Mustangs head coach Nick Irvin four games. Roy and Harv Schmidt of Illinois Prep Bulls-Eye originally broke the story.

The suspensions will keep Smith off the sidelines for Wednesday nights game against Bogan, Saturdays nationally televised showdown on ESPNU with Whitney Young, which, ironically enough, is set to be held on Chicago State's campus. Smith will also miss the Wolverines' contest with Harlan and a game in Las Vegas against Coronado.

Irvin will miss the Mustangs' contests against Julian on Wednesday, Carver on Thursday, Bogan on Jan. 28 and Harlan Jan. 30.

The Chicago Public Schools have not officially confirmed the suspensions and neither coach has commented on the situation. CSNChicago.com will bring you more information on this developing situation as it becomes available.
