Providence WR Miles Boykin commits to Notre Dame

Providence Catholic senior wide receiver Miles Boykin (6-foot-3, 225 pounds) made his college decision just minutes ago on Twitter, giving Notre Dame his verbal commitment.


"Notre Dame just feels like the best place for me" Boykin said. "I liked the combination of academics and football that Notre Dame offers. That's what made the big difference for me and that's why I committed to Notre Dame."

Boykin also compared Notre Dame with his current school in Providence Catholic.

"Notre Dame does feel a lot like Providence to me. Both are smaller schools with a great family feel. They offer a faith based education, great academics and alot of tradition at both schools."

Boykin looked hard at several schools yet in the end it was down to two schools per Boykin.

'It was back and froth for me between Michigan State and Notre Dame. I also considered all of the remaining schools on my list pretty hard."

Boykin, a four star ranked recruit and the 116th top player in the nation according to had narrowed down his final list of favorite schools to Florida, Illinois, Michigan, Michigan State, Missouri and Notre Dame before announcing his pledge to Notre Dame.

Boykin is the 17th known verbal commitment in the Fighting Irish Class of 20125. Boykin joins Cary-Grove OG Trevor Ruhland (6-foot-4, 270 pounds) and Bolingbrook DE Micah Dew-Treadway (6-foot-5, 285 pounds) as Chicagoland pledges so far for Notre Dame.
