Josh King (DE), Hinsdale South

King (6-foot-6, 230 pounds), who is Rivals.com's No. 1 ranked recruit in Illinois, named his Top 5 schools. His list includes Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Penn State and USC. King told Rivals.com Midwest Recruiting Expert Josh Helmholdt that it was time to narrow down his list of schools.

"I've been wanting to narrow it down for awhile now because I was getting a little tired of the recruiting process," King said. "Sometime in the summer I am thinking about committing because anything can happen during the season and I wanted to make sure I had everything taken care of."

Naquan Jones (DT), Evanston

Jones (6-foot-4, 289 pounds) named his Top 6 schools and also finalized a date for announcing his verbal commitment.

"My Top 6 schools are in no order Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, South Carolina, Penn State and Wisconsin." Jones said. "I decided that I wanted to get things moving along with my recruiting. I'm going to announce my decision on June 5th since that's the last day of school for the year. I want to make a decision and then have my focus totally on my senior season."

Jones is planning to take one more round of unofficial visits to each school before making a final decision decision.

Kenney Lyke (S), Fremd

Lyke (6-foot-2, 190 pounds) is also down to a Top 4 schools list. Lyke has named Michigan State, Baylor, Oregon and Notre Dame as his final four.

Lyke is expected to make a late spring/early simmer verbal commitment.

Romeo McKnight (DE), Crystal Lake Central

A name that has emerged this spring is McKnight (6-foot-5, 220 pounds). The junior defensive end, who also won the Class 3A 220-pound state wrestling title this past winter, made a strong impression at the recently held Nike Camp, which earned him an offer from Toledo.

"The offer from Toledo, to be honest, came out of nowhere," McKnight said. "They made an in-school visit the day after the Nike Camp and they offered me later that day. I still need to learn more about the school but it's definitely exciting to get my first offer from Toledo."

McKnight is also drawing increased recruiting looks from Ball State, Illinois State, Iowa State, Wisconsin, Western Michigan and NIU.

Cole Kmet (TE), St. Viator

While the junior class is drawing a bulk of recruiting attention and scholarship offers, one Class of 2017 name is quickly adding offers already this spring. Kmet (6-foot-4, 220 pounds) now has offers from Louisville, Baylor, North Carolina and Kentucky. Kmet has also seen multiple college coaches in-school this spring.

"We have seen the coaches from Baylor, Purdue, NIU, Illinois, Northern Illinois, Vanderbilt, South Carolina and Duke. I know that the coaches from Pitt, N.C. State, Miami (FL) and Notre Dame will also visit my school this week."

Chris Katrenick (QB), Jacobs

Katernick (6-foot-2, 200 pounds) added his first offer on Tuesday from Virginia.
