Who remains the Top 5 uncommitted recruits from the State of Illinois Class of 2014?

Crete-Monee LB Nyles Morgan (6-foot-1, 222 pounds): Morgan will announce his college choice during this Saturday at the US Army All American Bowl (12 p.m. NBC-5). Morgan, a four-star ranked linebacker recruit according to and the state's second-ranked recruit overall has narrowed his list of schools to Notre Dame, Vanderbilt, Ole Miss and Florida. The perceived favorite seems to be Notre Dame for Morgan, yet he made official visits to all four schools. My best guess is Notre Dame.

St. Rita RB Tommy Mister (6-foot-1, 190 pounds): Mister made an early verbal commitment to Iowa State yet last week backed off that commitment. Mister backed away from Iowa State after the Cyclones fired both its offensive coordinator and running backs coach immediately after the season. He has made an official visit to Indiana and calls the Hoosiers one of his top schools. Mister is still in touch with Iowa State and is waiting to see what happens with the coaching situation in Ames, Iowa. Minnesota and Nebraska have also made recent inquiries.

Chicago Simeon OT Denzel Ward (6-foot-9, 285 pounds): Ward has been an interesting story to follow on many levels. He has bounced around from ales Franciscan to IMG Academy in Florida and back to Chicago and Simeon. He made an official visit to South Florida and will also visit Syracuse and Nebraska in January. Ward remains a rarity in the Midwest Class of 2014 -- a big offensive tackle type still on the board.

Downers Grove North LB Vontae Diggs (6-foot-4, 200 pounds): A three-star ranked recruit according to, Diggs also made an early verbal commitment to Toledo but then backed off the decision and he still remains available. He is looking at taking official visits in January to Ball State and former EIU and new Bowling Green head coach Dino Babers staff has interesti in Diggs.

Chicago Simeon DE Eddie Randle (6-foot-7, 250 pounds): Physically, Randle could be one of the best recruits available in the entire Midwest. Randle, who transferred to Simeon from St. Rita for his senior season, has interest from several D-1 level schools with Syracuse being the most interested at this stage. He is still trying to become a full academic qualifier could end up being a late add to the Class of 2014. If Randle can qualify, he has a chance to become a huge steal in this class.
