How good was the class of 2013 in Illinois? For the first time since 1990, two Chicago-area products rank among the Top 10 in the nation, according to recruiting analyst Tom Lemming of CBS Sports Network. That's how good.

Ole Miss-bound Laquon Treadwell of Crete-Monee, the nation's top-rated wide receiver, ranks as the sixth best player in the country. USC-bound running back Ty Isaac of Joliet Catholic ranks No. 10. And LSU-bound offensive tackle Ethan Pocic of Lemont ranks No. 30.

The last time the Chicago area landed two players in the Top 10 was 1990, with defensive lineman Oliver Gibson of Romeoville and defensive end Bryant Young of Bloom. Both went to Notre Dame.

Also named to the Top 100 were Illinois-bound quarterback Aaron Bailey of Bolingbrook and Michigan-bound offensive tackle Kyle Bosch of Wheaton St. Francis.

Curiously, while Lemming rated Oregon-bound Thomas Tyner and Isaac as the two leading running backs in the nation, Alabama-bound Derrick Henry was singled out as Florida's Mr. Football and National Player of the Year by Parade magazine, MaxPreps and the Maxwell Football Club. He was ranked as the third leading running back and the No. 13 player in the nation by Lemming.

Henry, who already is enrolled at Alabama, set state and national records in his final season at Yulee, Florida. The 6-foot-3, 241-pounder rushed for 4,261 yards as a senior and finished with 12,124 yards and 153 touchdowns to surpass the all-time single-season rushing record set 59 years ago by Ken Hall of Sugar Land, Texas.

With three of the top 13 players in the nation -- linebacker Reuben Foster (3), wide receiver O.C. Howard (8) and Henry (13) -- Alabama managed to sign the nation's top-rated recruiting class for the second year in a row.

USC signed three of the Top 10 -- quarterback Max Browne (2), linebacker Su'a Cravens (4) and Isaac (10) -- but the Trojans' class, which was limited by NCAA sanctions, isn't as deep. Coach Lane Kiffin's class, which was ranked No. 1 two months ago, sustained seven decommitments in recent weeks and dropped out of the top 10.
