One year ago Aja Evans was competing in the Bobsled World Championships in Sochi -- the same place she'll compete in this year's Olympics -- with a heavy heart. Her grandfather had just passed away and she had to deal with trying to compete on a national stage while thinking about her lost loved one.
"His funeral was the actual day of our race; it was at the same time. So as I got off the podium, I called my mom and told her the results," said Evans. "She was literally leaving the funeral and she was like, 'That was the best news we heard all day.'"
Evans competed in that race, and she'll do so again beginning this week in Sochi. See her full story above.
