Short track speedskating is not for the faint of heart.
Northbrook native Lana Gehring has grown up since her appearance in the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics.
With one Olympic medal under her belt, Gehring is back for more in Sochi.
Gehring secured a spot on both the long and short track junior teams at the age of 14, and earned her first medal at the age of 19 in 2010. She was a part of the U.S. 3000m relay team that earned bronze in Vancouver.
Four years later, Gehring is one the world's fastest speed skaters, and one to watch for in Sochi.
