Rose visits teammates at Berto Center

While talk of Derrick Rose and what he means to the Bulls is bandied about in the media, Rose's teammates know and had that reinforced on Monday.

The reigning NBA MVP visited his teammates at the Berto Center two days after suffering a playoffs-ending left ACL injury in Game 1 on Saturday afternoon. He was said to be in "pretty good spirits" by Kyle Korver.

Coach Tom Thibodeau didn't know if Rose would be with the team for Game 2 on Tuesday night, but he didn't rule it out either.

"We want him around ... I don't think he'll be able to travel with us, but he'll be around," Thibodeau said. "And he wants to be around. He's excited to get around his teammates."

Carl Edwards Jr.'s special tie to Memorial Day

Carl Edwards Jr.'s special tie to Memorial Day

For Carl Edwards Jr., Memorial Day has a special meaning.

That's because the Cubs reliever has a very close tie to the armed services.

Edwards met his fiance, Nette Smith, before her deployment in Afghanistan. Throughout her active service, Edwards kept in touch by writing her letters. Their relationship eventually blossomed, and now the couple has a one-year-old child.

With Smith's army commitment finished, she views Memorial Day as a time to appreciate all those who serve.

"To me, Memorial Day is a day set aside for me to remember some of the people I have met who sacrificed everything," Smith said.
