The Chicago Blackhawks assigned forwards Jeremy Morin and Brandon Pirri to the Rockford IceHogs today. They also reassigned forward Brett McLean to Team Canada for the 2011 Spengler Cup.

The two were called up as Blackhawks forward Marcus Kruger (concussion) and Daniel Carcillo (upper body) continue to recover from their injuries. Morin has played in the last three games while Pirri played last night against the Montreal Canadiens. Pirri also played in the Blackhawks' season opener in Dallas.

The 33-year-old McLean has 19 points in 29 games with Rockford this season. The Spengler Cup is scheduled for Monday through Dec. 31 in Davos, Switzerland.
