Basketball and tennis reigned supreme in this year's edition of Rick Horrow's Power 100 rankings. And Chicago athletes made a healthy appearance, too.

Horrow, CEO of Horrow Sports Ventures, calculates his power rankings based on on-field contributions (50 percent) and off-field social media presence (50 percent).

Once again Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James led the way. He was followed by the biggest riser on the charts, reigning MVP and NBA champion Steph Curry. Fellow former MVP Kevin Durant came in at No. 5, while other NBA stars James Harden (10), DeMarcus Cousins (13), Anthony Davis (15) and Russell Westbrook (21) also made their way into the top 25.

The second sport most well represented was tennis, where Novak Djokovic (No. 3) and Serana Williams (No. 4) rounded out the top five. Andy Murray (16), Roger Federer (18), Maria Sharapova (19) and Radael Nadal (20) also made the cut.

Patrick Kane was the highest Chicago athlete on the list, coming in at No. 6. He was followed by Pau Gasol (46), Jimmy Butler (48), Hector Rondon (66), David Robertson (86).
