-- -- -- Boozer is dogs. And a half ago. Who questions our Missouri significance. This award being named after Red Auerbach -- works with Celtics organization and obviously grew up in that area and also what kind of feedback to -- -- -- community some parts of it. Don't know I think it's it's great to be part of -- coaching community and you hear from everybody. And what this football award represents. Certainly effective you know the opportunity to work him Boston. And what red or -- symbolizes the greatness that togetherness the sacrifices. I'll be in you know I was I was fortunate in my three years here to meet a lot of these. Thought Celtics visit -- you know from past great teams. Then you could see the common thread that they all that. How much they care about each other how they're willing to sacrifice for each other. And I think it took a lot of those lessons with me here so. Boston's a first class organization. And certainly those players. From the only team what they did for me you know I'm indebted to them I wanna be here for both -- them Kevin Garnett. Ray Allen Paul Pierce. Rajon Rondo. All those guys Kendrick Perkins Posey Eddie House. I'll win that championship was something I'll never forget. It enough I learned a lot. I'll be in their footage that what they said there's so there's a lot of great players long way Yao Ming Tracy McGrady Shane Battier. New York course Patrick Ewing. Larry Johnson and hopefully -- well. Houston. They keep you take something from all of all of those guys and being in playoff series with them you learn a lot. You learn a lot from the opposing players weren't a lot from Jordan Pippen. And it's he's been -- -- when great things about being here and Fisher's conventional Scotty. -- were great guys thought they feel that -- when we're competing against them. Put you know he's a joy to be around not to see you know why so special I'm glad. He comes around him off on this recognizing upon our guys in here in. At least appreciate you being here. Colin c.'s today Rasual Ronnie. John. Thanks for coming. But -- you guys beginning rest after that. I've got a question for. Both you guys first for Tom do you think that this team has taken on your personality. Through the year. Garner you don't vote but I think you know each team takes on its own personality. Bin. It's not my personality it's their personnel. Mr. willingness to work the willingness to commit to share. And I saw that from the first day I saw how serious the team was to its approach. How much they put into it. So I think that that's. You know that's the important thing about become a team when you go to a team that that truly commits. And everybody puts everything they have into it every day. Then you don't have to worry about anything else should you don't all the you can do. And that's -- -- -- success. So when we're willing to live with the results we know for doing the right things every day. Good will come. Good for car where there times during the year where you would walk down from your office and go. How to hold to and we end up giving this guy and how why didn't take him so long to get this first job. Well I mean I noon and I said this I knew the first couple weeks that he was here. That it really hit a Grand Slam and -- you could just see. The way he related to our players the amount of work that he put in the knowledge said he had. But really we knew that and in my opinion when we hired and I sit at the time. You know we had we had done an extensive amount of background and research we knew exactly what we're looking for. And Tom really has been everything we knew he would be in more and in just again thrilled that he's here. Town coming in do you -- brought a reputation as a workaholic. And a workplace has generally a good thing bought. Over 78 months of the season. How if you -- You desire to always work a little harder with the players' lives their approaches to things have you had -- -- off the -- over. How's that worked out. Never. Fifth affect how it's worked out great you know it's I know there's little a lot that's been said about. I never sleep whenever either never go home and I you know I do go home in feel. Generally he would you have to be balanced. In it's a long season. And once we get the work done. You know we do we go home we relax like everybody else and not get ready for the next day so. I think hardy pitcher team in this league is very important. Been you know what I consider them we're we're fortunate because we have the right guys. And I can't say enough about John and our. How they've selected. The right people. Tom -- earlier currency these teams you unit your assistants have interest in teams that -- makes uninteresting characters what did you learn though when you got on. When you're an -- -- teams a year that went deep runs in the playoffs so what it kind of takes. To win in the playoffs a week you know what -- you kind of brought to that the Bulls that. Well I think to go deep into the playoffs you have to be a well balanced team. We knew we knew that going in but think you have to be committed team and you have to be willing to sacrifice and -- And play for each other. I think when you look at and study the team should have done well over a period of time those are some of the characteristics that they have. So when you begin your season. You have in the back your mind what were you wanna go and how you wanna get there. Absolutely period starts with the commitment. Units from your best players always -- on down. In over the course of the season you need everybody. And when you get a group who commits. I'll need to have something special. So that's what we we started off with. And in. You know we're trying to maintain our goals. Are always the same we concentrate on exactly what's in front of us. Always strive for improvement each and every day. And we know it's you know a perfectionist heart to achieve you know you can't. Really get there with you you strive to get to to being this close to it is possible. But coach congratulations -- think in the community to the question and how are you gonna celebrate becoming the Indians go to the game to -- Vote hopefully have a great practice tomorrow. I don't I don't do great celebration for me. Town congratulations. Thank you is taking a long time we all know that the twenty years to -- become a head coach. But during the course of that twenty years did you change did you make adjustments as you're coaching style and how you want to do it and then. It felt that the way it is now. You know I think our. You always try to improve I think the important thing. When the season. Concludes you go back through this but through the season and you try to learn from it so you never stay the same. You always wanna get better. You analyze things that you don't well things that you maybe haven't done as well as you would like. You try to make those corrections. Put always think you're trying to improve and I think you -- learn from it each season. -- and from your experiences with your players. Studying your opponents but do you know hopefully you know well I'll get better. And Tommy you don't like to look more than one game ahead if you look a bunch of games back then and identify one or two. Maybe turning points -- crossroads in the season where. You see that things are coming together whether it was nine NATO were -- anywhere along the line. I think I realized. In training camp. The way we were practicing. And how hard. And guys were going in how well they were concentrating. I think once I saw that -- we have serious minded guys. And tonight again I think a lot of it goes back to. The guys that guard John brought in. And the guys that were already here. And when I saw the -- approach. I knew they would be good. I didn't know how good but I knew we would get better as the season went along. Him. We we took on some injuries early we got a tough early schedule. And our bench guys came through with flying colors so -- -- we -- quality depth. And I also like -- the veteran leadership that we had at the end that you thought it was huge for us. Tom people people ask us a lot you know it doesn't see is -- and fun this year is a screaming how much fun as it. To do this job with these guys and obviously to win that. Well it's an honor and a privilege to coach these guys so you know we should be around him every day to see it. The form partisan winning from the so. But it again. And it's enjoyable. Knowing that we have a group of guys that have thought. Put a lot into something. You know every day they come in in -- they study they prepare they practice hard. And that doubt to me makes it enjoyable.
