Tony Dungy is that kind enough to join us again after -- hung up on him I. You take the blame on that one day at a third -- -- so I'm not a good spot now. Okay you can do I know you can't line so I. -- you know what I I was looking at Michael Vick -- his comments and I was surprised that He was in fine by the league for being critical and the NFL told us He was those were just his observations. Should be been fine for those comments. You know -- back or -- I've done it in the -- -- can do that long you don't criticize a specific call -- not fit a Randy Moss pushes off more than any differently I hope they call this week when that play has long you don't -- -- On this particular play -- post off and they didn't call it calm you are just make an observation and so. I don't think He was out of line network it's -- -- that that that I would not that I would have lit the media that you're here boats -- Cutler and the Buick but other people talk about it. But with Michael Vick it is He treated differently because of his style. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Quarterback like that that the officials still like candidate waited and it makes spectacular plays out of the pocket -- -- away from the -- -- they get those Russian blue. More leeway -- those that don't get the same Colts and Peyton Manning and Tom Brady didn't sit in the pocket. Now but I don't end Jason whitlock of fox sports a columnist was saying that you know what it's. You're looking at McNabb and Vince Young Michael Vick black quarterbacks aren't protected and I said by either read into it that way it's a running quarterback. But I think that the league and the commissioner is gone out of his way to actually protect Michael -- He wants him to be a star again in the league. Well I think a league don't want those great players that could be. Easier but it is more of a bow out of Roethlisberger and in that same category. Yeah. And that is different and I know me as a coach I used to go to the -- before again one more play in Pittsburgh and so it. You got to treat Roethlisberger like a running back. And when you allow tacked on him like a running back. And you can't call these -- tech probably gonna because. We're trying to get him down so it's it's it's a -- but there you know the other side of the coin is. Yeah government's side and there are going to be call that the -- -- don't look at it and find guys who booed. Didn't get penalized them getting and that happened and in the Seattle -- -- more than -- is that we followed Pawtucket did not call and order that bit of fine -- Tony Dungy football night America analyst -- is that Dan Patrick show. Do you see the column Sally Jenkins Washington Post saying that if Rex Grossman drop some pounds that tone He did not get it out and execute better quarterback. I don't know but it -- It's simple -- that -- -- -- bit -- -- simplistic explanation. I never. I and it didn't say that that is suitable hole that the potential is in the us. Skipper told somebody to lose weight. More defense to back to wide receiver that never thought it made that much difference with quarterbacks. You know but you have some offensive linemen to defense lineman but. Yeah never never had that the quarterback. How do you explain with the Vikings don't do with -- Adrian Peterson's second half of games when they build up his sleeves and He gets four carries in the loss to the lines. Well of the problem and I'll talk or let the phrase about that the problem there have been a third down that one for fifteen on third down in the second half and so that's what happens if you run Peters and on first down that -- April 2 out. Now you come back and you don't. Convert on third down and and it does -- -- -- so I think they're looking at ways that they can convert these third down that in the second half and that's gonna get Peterson more carries but. Obviously they've they've got to run him -- their best player. I'm Brian Urlacher was on first down to show. And I asked him why can running backs lead with their helmets and defensive players can't -- run -- locker. The question I mean what can they cut back on us what we're not looking. So were defenseless journal play defense or defense -- we're not looking. Of the time bought and also when the guys come on -- California has some other legal penalties were officials spent too. -- There I mean people have to understand the rule there are rules they can't crack back on -- below the knee they can't crack back on you above the shoulders so you. When you are defense but defender you've got the same target level that the quarterback. What did what was that did all the running plays -- running back and the defender into the -- and -- run and secondly with the helmet so can the defender. So I think planned a little bit off on his but now is this. And I just think there's different rules there but I also think that we're looking at defense of players who are quite sure what they're allowed to do on on any given play but I think what we're seeing is. With all these big numbers being put up by the quarterbacks. They're getting hit just about every time they're delivering the football is that the only. You know your your only course of action here with the way they've taken away all the weapons for the defense. Note no I didn't finish and you have to do as a coach. Yeah have to get across your players what the rules are -- there are times when there are no rules and you can hit however you you can get it done and got sent to understand that the -- and there are other -- protect the players. You know you can only get a certain player that -- you got to sort out. That is the thing with the quarterbacks -- we all that you play somebody you gotta -- -- you don't make them feel that. You've got to get some hits on them whenever you can't and that's the only way you -- Manning and Brady a brick goes now. Jimmer say talking had a breakfast saying that there's a chance Payton could come back and practice in December. Well why even say anything. I think He wants to keep that the -- -- alive not not only -- -- the hope would detainment and that's part of that that. Mental approach say we got a piano we've got to win enough games so if there is a chance that He gets back it's still makes it different now. It happened or not or what have the street but I think that that the planet don't give up on the Phillies and let one another game predicted the numbers it would happen. Man but I think you put out false hope there may be and plus then you put little pressure on Peyton. To come back in December. I think -- planning on net. And you know now the courts and come its December and if they haven't won enough games that they've not had that been there and as an organization I don't think you can bring him back but I think they're all planning on him coming back then and then see what happens. You think that Payton won't play in December. I think it planned December if this Villa. The Woody's still in it mathematically alive or let's say they got now. Lou you know -- you have to look at it that it would put him in the lineup they've gone on on for game six and seven game winning streak so its the you know if they needed to win four in a row in December and He could start playing. -- pitcher they would feel they could do it so you know there. Somewhere haven't. Five and six foot but you know you can win four in a row and get there I think He tries to come back. Could -- win the MVP by not playing this year. Couldn't that's a good quotes and I think He is. It definitely -- we've been good is Candace that this city has that taken out probably because you do see how viable is the veteran. I was CU coming up this weekend. Look forward Kurt thank -- It's Tony Dungy football in American.
