Sunday at the Bank of America Chicago marathon 45000. Runners will be lining the streets of Chicago. Also I think grant park on Sunday at 7:30 AM. Please go to the web site check out the valve was. And joining me how to talk about the 2011. Bank of America Chicago marathon is race director in his 21 year on the job yes -- pink house He wow that's a long and it's. It is long but I don't just seems like yesterday happens -- Well -- got a big weekend I had and of course the weather is going to be warm nothing like it was a couple years ago bit warmer than normal. Sure less than ideal conditions but we're hoping that it cool a little bit. But obviously -- communication -- participants. The front end he's our -- athletes they should be fine from 730 to 930 a wheelchair athletes will be it'll be perfect for them but up. -- -- -- -- to our participants they should rehydrate. It may not be the day for the three -- for our people to set a personal records that some of back off a little bit and just Tennessee front. Now I can I have this weather and I landed in 06 it was thirty degrees on the warm weather right now I like that but I please have a beautiful day of course. No rain talk about the elite races though and maybe the guys who are gonna for the big bucks here. Walt bomb on the on the women's side exciting I've raced about that would really show called she's going to attempt to do something we've had no other woman to afford it which is win three times in a row. And she's got an added incentive if she wins in Chicago on Sunday she wins the world marathon majors tighter title an additional 500000 dollar payday so. It'll be a great day for -- -- if she can pull off and run into the record books on the men's side. Moses most -- very talented Kenyan athlete that Haas ran the second fastest time in Boston ever for the marathon. And out of got our American star Ryan Hall is in great shape he's the right frame of mind he's ready to go so it should be civic spirit and running up front. Yeah actually in America and mail hasn't won this race since Khalid Khannouchi back in 2002 is that correct that a Kenyon has won it ever -- correct. The race has really been Tommy not only Chicago Boston New York London by by Kenya and Ethiopia so this this maybe a little change in the time. All right so for those of us not running it this year I'm going to get up make my pot of coffee and turn on. And BC five right side and had some of the action. Great partnership of NBC five they're doing our coverage race morning how they do a great job. Might get -- -- Paul Ferris and I stone US Olympian Tony Brothers and Joan Samuelson former champion Chicago American record holder and Olympic gold -- will be called making the call so. And be a great day if you're not gonna run -- you can watch on TV. Can watch it on TV and maybe come out caution of course the viewers always check the map just in case -- to go anywhere Sunday morning. But come on out and watch it because He actually have a lot of people viewing a lot of fans out there lining. Raceway in and -- The people on absolutely one of the great elements of the of the races the course in the neighborhoods we go through each -- the crowds get bigger more enthusiastic. Great as you guys know it's a great sports town. Have really embraced the Bank of America Chicago marathon just great crowds that are out there and -- He really it's the great great tours the city Chicago is you know you go through so many wonderful neighborhoods and you get to experience that ethnicity of the neighborhoods in the energy and just. They're they're just out there for not only our guys up front that they have you know and they're trying to win but also. 345 hour marathon runners also so it's it's a great day and just and still a great event. Two decades of doing this for you I mean just when you think about the magnitude and how much this has got. 45000. Runners and I know a lot of money and brings to the city and everybody has a ton of fun out there. Very fortunate the popularity in the demand we open our registration February 1 31 days later we filled with 45000 participants. We have over 101000 of our runners this year that are supporting our charity program. Last year our race morning we raced twelve point one million dollars for charity which is great to some local charities national charities that it -- recipients of that. Since 2002 we've raised over seven million dollars for charity so that's a great piece we've got people coming from all fifty states a 120 countries. We commission economic impact study to delivered 170 million dollars a local economy so it's a good thing. Got a lot of people coming to town and celebrating this these this individual commitment and dedication. All right it's a huge event known a world riot in the Bank of America Chicago marathon.
